Note: To be considered for our 2025 Summer Internship program you must be enrolled in a university degree program and cannot be graduating sooner than December 2025.
Education Required: Currently pursuing an advanced degree, preferred in life sciences, engineering, data science, or statistics. Strong analytical skills and confidence in presenting findings and recommendations to Sr. Management.
General Description: The Advanced Analytics Intern role will predominantly be focused on secondary data analytics to inform business strategy and field optimization strategies to support BeiGene’s commercial products, zanubrutinib and tislelizumab. This individual must work effectively with field commercial teams and home office personnel to provide insights and recommendations on a variety of issues and imperatives impacting field force success. Specific examples of key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Development of the targeting / call plan for field personnel, creating line of therapy (LOT) to track patient journeys, predicting patients likelihood to progress to next line of therapy. It is imperative that all Global Operations and Business Analytics (GOBA) team members work together closely and openly, often picking up functional expertise from each other, to advance market understanding and to optimize approaches.
Essential Functions of the Internship:
- Assist in designing, streamlining, and operationalizing analytics and reports
- Ensure key multi-stakeholder insights and recommendations are quickly and appropriately shared with cross-functional partners.
- Apply basic consulting skills, including consultative listening, problem definition, hypothesis generation, data analysis, translation to value, and oral and written presentation for impact.
- Act with speed, agility, and accountability, while adapting to evolving business needs
- Assist in analyzing patient-level claims data to track market trends
- Support predictive analytics projects, including patient progression modeling and performance driver analysis.
- Conduct market share assessments by evaluating new patient starts and treatment patterns.
- Assist in Next Best Action (NBA) analysis to optimize physician engagement strategies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Commercial Strategy, HEOR, and Clinical Operations, to generate actionable insights.
- Contribute to analytics enablement initiatives by documenting best practices and standard methodologies within GOBA.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an advanced degree with a concentration in Life Sciences, Data Science, Statistics or Business.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate the data and learning into actionable recommendations for business growth.
- Familiarity with healthcare databases, including claims, specialty pharmacy, and in-office dispense, and electronic health records (EHR) datasets.
- Prior experience in healthcare analytics, real-world data analysis, or business intelligence within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Strong understanding of oncology treatment landscapes, particularly in hematologic malignancies.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and excellence in project management, including effectively managing multiple projects/priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize findings and deliver a clear overview of recommendations.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
- Knowledge of Dataiku Data Science Studio is a plus
Pay Range:
$27.50/hr (bachelors)
$38.50/hr (masters)
$40.50/hr (PhD)
