SummaryThe Flight Crew Operations Crew Resource and Productivity Specialist will be responsible for closely monitoring pilot and flight attendant staffing and bidding processes. The specialist will also actively assist the leaders of Flight Crew Operations and other departments in developing and executing bidding related procedures for crew members in addition to monitoring staffing levels by base and system as it relates to crew hiring.

• Previous airline experience and familiarity with aviation-related processes (e.g. schedule and vacancy bidding).• Strong ability to communicate effectively and professionally both written and verbally; must be able to clearly and concisely articulate ideas and recommendations interdepartmentally.• Exceptional Microsoft office skills (mainly Excel and PowerPoint); high degree of familiarity with Excel formulas to help drive efficient work processes and data mining.• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work with large data sets and identify trends, patterns, and focus areas for operational leaders. Previous experience in translating large data sets into digestible and meaningful pieces of information to influence a change.• Ability to create spreadsheet models and produce relevant outputs.• Highly organized with proven multi-tasking ability required.• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.• Excellent problem solving and structured thinking skills.• Positive attitude and desire to learn new skills.
Preferred Requirements• Minimum two (2) years of experience in aviation with operational experience preferred.
Job Duties• Support the leaders of Flight Crew Operations and other departments with the evaluation and recommendations for pilot and flight attendant staffing as it relates to hiring and bidding related processes.• Subject matter expert (SME) for the crew schedule bidding (PBS) software.• Develop monthly schedule bidding resources and bid preparation documents for crews and internally.• Be a liaison to the Crew Support Administrators (CSAs) and provide relevant resources and recommendations to the CSAs to better assist crew members during various types of bidding related processes (e.g. schedule, vacancy, TDY, etc.).• Actively communicate interdepartmentally to ensure concerning bidding / staffing trends are addressed.• Collaborate with Business Intelligence (BI) to enhance vacancy bidding, vacation bidding, and TDY bidding tools.• In collaboration with the ‘Flight Crew Reliability and Dependability Specialist’, develop monthly presentations for upper management to review key productivity data (e.g. sick, no show, fatigue), while developing recommendations to address concerning trends.• Assist the leaders of Flight Crew Operations with bidding related process including, but not limited to, structuring bidding documents, developing emails, updating Company portals with bid results, etc.• Responsible for updating Merlot base changes, TDY assignments, bid flags, etc.• Take an active role in the preparation of monthly schedule (PBS) bidding preparations and procedures for crew members.• Help facilitate monthly TDY / VTO / CCL / VSTL bidding processes.• Work with the leaders of Flight Crew Operations, Crew Planning, and Financial Planning and Analysis on a monthly basis to set TDY parameters, voluntary leaves, and monthly hour ranges for each bid period in a cost effective manner to support our low-cost business model.• Spearhead the annual pilot / flight attendant vacation bid, monitor post-bid requests, and make necessary adjustments in Company portals when awards are confirmed.• Fulfill vacation change requests from crew members throughout the year after the annual vacation bid.• Track and evaluate crew member attrition trends to assist management with hiring decisions.• Manage all pilot / flight attendant moving day and moving expense requests where applicable.• Work collaboratively interdepartmentally with key stakeholders in the hiring process for pilots and flight attendants.• Work collaboratively with the leaders of Flight Crew Operations develop recommendations for the timing of crew hiring, opening vacancies, and communicating staffing updates with Crews.• Prepare reoccurring presentations for upper management with current and future pilot and flight attendant staffing plans.• Continuously monitor crew member bidding eligibility as it relates to qualification status, leave of absences, and voluntary time off.
