Job Description

AECOM has an immediate need for a middle level Project Manager (PM III) to support our Environmental Remediation projects in Hawaii and Guam.  This position will be based in Honolulu.  In this role, this role will be focused on multiple large-scale remediation projects in Hawaii and Guam to work with a AECM team and subcontractors.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing environmental remediation projects of  $1 million dollars or greater - including Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions for the Federal sector. The successful candidate will have at a minimum a BS in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science with a successful work history of environmental investigation and remediation projects. 

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Manages one or more very complex project, involving a combination of the following:
  • Clients with a national geographic footprint; OR,
  • Projects involving a full spectrum of services offered by IE; OR,
  • Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.
  • Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
  • Has consenting and regulatory authority for approvals.
  • Manages other Project Managers.

 

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related discipline and 4 plus years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • US Citizen, for access to DoD project sites
    • Ability to travel at least 10% of the time
    • Must successfully pass preemployment background check, motor vehicle records check.  
    • Sponsorship will not be available at this time or in the future.  

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ability to successfully obtain a DBIDs pass to gain access to any required federal military installation site locations.
    • Candidate must possess current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination.
    • Experienced with CERCLA and environmental science principles, including site assessment and characterization, remediation, risk assessment, environmental chemistry, etc.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • Master’s Degree in engineering, Geology, and Environmental Science, or related discipline.
    • Professional registration preferred
    • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports.
    • Knowledgeable and experience working on State of Hawaii, Department of Health TGM, SCP, and local environmental regulation. 
    • Extensive DOD and CLEAN Experience in Hawaii and Guam.
    • Proven project estimating experience, preferably environmental
    • Demonstrated experience with Client and Regulatory interactions
    • Excellent skills in written and spoken communication (including polished client presentation skills), organization, time management.
    • Field work might be required, including oversight of subcontractors.
