About the role

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing CT and/or Mammography, Bone Density, and X-Ray. Completes assigned responsibilities within his/her certification with little or no direct supervision. Participates in performance improvement activities and quality monitoring for the department.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:

- Graduate of a program for Radiologic Technologist.

 

- ARRT registered or eligible.

 

- Iowa licensure (Permit to Practice)

- Must be registered to take certification boards in at least one specialty area within six months of completion of classes and/or acceptable clinical hours and exams.  

- For mammography, familiar with MQSA, Mammography accreditation and software associated with Mammography programs

- Previous hospital experience preferred.

- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required.  New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.

- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

- High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others.

- Ability to communicate well verbally.  Must work effectively as a member of a team.

- Strong RIS and PACS computer knowledge. (Meditech and Mckesson experience preferred).

- Technical skills associated with duties listed within this job description.  Must be competent in all assigned areas.

- Willingness to complete further radiographic education or certification as required by the department.

- Must demonstrate leadership and effective communication skills as required for this position.
