Summary
The Lead Associate, Grants & Contracts Compliance, supports Save the Children stakeholders on grants, cooperative agreements, contract compliance issues, proposal reviews, and agreement negotiations. You will work closely with the Grants & Contracts Compliance Team and the Managing Director of Grants & Contracts Compliance and manage a portfolio of various US Government funding sources (e.g., USAID, BPRM, DHHS, DOE, BHA, USDA, etc.), the Global Fund, and various private and corporate funders. You will support the proposal, award review, and approval process and provide award compliance support to meet SCUS and donor requirements. You will support the review of sub-awards and have knowledge of 2 CFR 200 and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), while supporting training initiatives and capacity building.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
Award Administration (90%):
- Review cost proposals, awards, subawards, and modifications against donor rules and regulations and internal policies and procedures; support the maintenance of tools and templates; review and approve award-related data/information in the organization’s award management system.
- Lead on assigned grant and contract award portfolios, ensuring records are accurately set up in our award management system for selected portfolios.
- Liaise when contacted by relevant stakeholders in Compliance, Risk, and Operations (CRO), finance, and Award Management on grant and contract issues.
- Support quarterly sampling review and monitoring of donor requirement flow down to SCI, Members, and Subawards
- Support ad hoc requests.
Compliance, Infrastructure, Training, and Technical Assistance (10%):
- Work with CRO leadership, SCI and Members, and other stakeholders to ensure that grants and contracts are managed efficiently through various means; escalate issues/provide feedback on updating policies.
- Support SC in developing organizational capacity to administer grants and contracts. Develop and build relationships with peers, team, and other stakeholders. Participate in working groups, corporate initiatives, and projects.
- Support the update, development, and delivery of formal and informal training on grant and contract topics and develop/maintain resources, including communications tools and best practices, with a focus on transferring knowledge on both grants and contracts administration and associated rules and regulations within and across teams, and with SCI and Members to build increased organizational capacity.
- Maintain knowledge of USG and other major funder rules and regulations; communicate changes to management; perform other duties as may be required.
- Support the team in disseminating donor rules and regulations updates and key compliance topics.
- Support ad hoc requests.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge in the compliance and portfolio management of USAID awards and other federal, major, and private donors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal assistance & acquisition regulations and applicability.
- Experience in USAID budget review, award negotiation, donor rules and regulations interpretation, subaward management, and procurement processes.
- Professional and collaborative problem-solving orientation with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven organizational skills to prioritize workload and multitask.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 5%.
- Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
