Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated, technically talented Android Developer to join our team of world-class software engineers. This full-time, on-site position in Andover, MA offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-tech environment, building cutting-edge scientific tools.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of Android development experience.

Additional Information:

• Must be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement new features for Android applications used in portable scientific analyzers, including X-ray (XRF), laser (LIBS, Raman), and infrared (NIR) technologies.
• Contribute to 80% new product development and 20% maintenance of existing applications.
• Support the integration of applications with the proprietary SciAps Cloud platform and Desktop Calibration tools.
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code that is both self-documenting and high-performing.
• Collaborate closely with the science team to develop and implement spectrum processing and data analysis algorithms.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in developing robust, extensible, and customizable Android applications, particularly on the Android 13 platform.
• Kotlin and Java experience is a must.
• Expertise in User Interface (UI) development is essential.
• Experience integrating Android applications with real-time data processing systems.
• Strong organizational skills paired with creative problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift rapidly based on evolving business needs.
• Competency in implementing and optimizing mathematical algorithms within code.

Bonus Skills (Pluses):

• Experience with Embedded Linux Kernel.
• Familiarity with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
• Experience with cloud integrations, particularly with AWS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
• Experience with Java Swing desktop application development.
• Background in analytical chemistry technologies (XRF, LIBS, NIR, Raman).

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
