Responsibilities
Responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintenance of kdb+ Systems for fortune 500 clients. Development of a market surveillance system to detect internal infringement patterns in real-time and historically, in compliance with SEC regulation. Leading a team to provide specialized kdb+ system support, upgrading the system and testing new releases of the core product. Liaising between the client firm and a team of Kx consultants engaged on the surveillance project, with responsibility for continued development and support. Utilizing Capital Markets knowledge in Equities, Options, Fixed-income Securities, Risk Analysis, and Interest Rate Derivatives. Installation and support of core Kx software and surveillance API. Developing a user interface in consultation with internal analysts. Assisting in the adoption of kdb+ by internal users. Advising the firm on kdb+ infrastructure requirements. Assisting in the firm-wide transition from a NYSE TAQ market data feed to Reuters. Utilizing technical skills in kdb+, UNIX, HTML5, CSS, SQL, R, Python, and JIRA. Training and advising the client’s workers application in development and best practices; Kx and market surveillance practices. Employing experience with kdb+ database and q programming language and the full product suite of kdb+ systems.
Skills and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
Studies, Engineering or related discipline plus two years-experience in the job offered or related
position in the Kx field.
The minimum required experience in the job offered or related occupation must include two years of experience implementing, supporting, and maintenance of kdb+ systems for fortune 500 clients. It must also include: experience leading a team to provide specialized kdb+ system support, upgrading the system and testing new releases of the core product; Advising on kdb+ infrastructure requirements; Assisting in a transition from a NYSE TAQ market data feed to Reuters. Must have experience with kdb+ database and q programming language and the full product suite of kdb+ systems.
