Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

 

Purpose of the Position:

Manage the precious metal category related to refining, component and parts and overall management of the annual spend required to support the business.  Develop, influence and drive category sourcing decisions, actions, and strategies by providing cost modeling, market, supplier intelligence analysis and recommendations. Align with CMS and KMS strategies and support metal management.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience in supply management, operations, procurement or manufacturing, planning, engineering
• Experience and understanding managing various metals & markets as well as the key metal markets and their indices, metrics, and contract derivatives
• Experience with vendor financial assessment and reporting
• Understand and applies Total Cost of Ownership
• Analysis, data interpretation, and concise reporting and/or presenting

 

Desired:

• Experience across multiple businesses, division and/or technologies
• Experience with global manufacturing and business through work, project experience.
• Engineering understanding (Ability to read prints, material estimating, etc.)

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Proactively manages the key vendors in the precious metal areas:
  • Maintain required documentation:
    • Contracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Vendor Management, Purchase Orders, Payables, and any other requirements
• Works with business key stakeholders and other category teams to align, leverage knowledge, and complement sourcing, inventory, and contracting strategies; Uses competitive intelligence to determine Corning’s position and overall competitiveness in the supply market for all categories
• Performs and costs modeling analysis to include market, vendor, and supply & demand intelligence
• Perform and publishes vendor financial and risk assessments, driving action where required
• Aligns with and drives to stated Corporate, Business and Category objectives
• Alert to category managers of great changes on price trend (actual or forecast)

The range for this position is  $77,358.00   -  $106,368.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
