The Opportunity:

As an Exercise Planner on our team, you'll assist a DoD client with a dispersed workforce, operating in a non-standard, OCONUS location, in a bilateral setting on a rotational basis to develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of plans and procedures for an international partner. You will help create rich content using training systems and processes to tell a realistic story. You’ll listen to partner challenges and identify threats, gaps, or risks that need to be explored and provide a safe space for recommendations that will make lasting, real-world impact. You will not only be an exercise planner. You will be a coach, working with a partner to inculcate exercise planning best practices in a foreign context. You will work closely with the team training manager and U.S. advisors to ensure that the objectives of any given exercise nest with a fully developed, annual training plan. You will help establish methodologies to implement training or advisory programs within existing and appropriate fiscal and operational authorities. You will coordinate with the team assessments and data manager to assess the effectiveness of the POI. You will apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. You'll develop innovative solutions to complex problems. You'll work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members. This position requires extensive travel to an international location.

You Have:  

• 5+ years of experience with planning and executing a Component or Joint Exercise Program

• Experience with the Five Stages of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC)

• Experience with using Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Office 365

• Knowledge of exercise design at the brigade or battalion level

• Knowledge of Joint, Bilateral, or Unilateral Exercises

• Ability to work on rotation at an international location for up to 12 months and then rotate to a different location every 90 days to reset visas

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:  

• 8+ years of experience at the brigade level

• Experience with organizational leadership

• Experience with supporting an exercise budget with multiple funding streams

• Knowledge of the aspects of Multi-Domain Operations

• Ability to stay on task through one full iteration of an exercise JELC cycle

• Ability to take an exercise from the concept phase, plan the exercise, prepare, and provide a senior-level concept of operation brief 

• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• TS/SCI clearance

• Master’s degree
