About The Opportunity
Avaya is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineering DevOps Manager to lead our onsite DevOps team in Irving, TX. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing the design, implementation, and optimization of our CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps processes. You will work closely with software development, QA, and IT teams to ensure smooth, efficient, and reliable software delivery, with a focus on scalability and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead, mentor, and manage an onsite DevOps team to achieve operational excellence.
- Develop and execute DevOps strategies aligned with Avaya's business goals, focusing on enhancing the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and driving continuous improvement.
- Promote best practices in automation, infrastructure management, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Automation & Infrastructure:
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises systems.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high availability and performance of systems and applications.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management:
- Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software releases.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to streamline deployment processes and reduce time-to-market.
- Resolve build, deployment, and infrastructure-related issues promptly.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure infrastructure and processes comply with industry security standards and regulations.
- Implement security best practices, including vulnerability assessments, threat detection, and response.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with development, QA, and IT teams to ensure strong communication and collaboration across departments.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the DevOps team.
- Report on project progress, risks, and key metrics to senior leadership.
About You
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with automation and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools and processes (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Experience ensuring security and compliance (SOC2, ISO 27001).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and serverless technologies.
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $210,000 + bonus.
