The Business Services Representative – Thoracic Surgery position provides flexible front office support in a specialized surgical practice, ensuring patients receive timely, professional, and compassionate service. Responsibilities include appointment scheduling, insurance verification, referral coordination, copay collection, and patient check-in/check-out. Also assists providers and staff with chart preparation, phone management, and accurate documentation. Ideal for someone with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to jump in and support the team as needed in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do:

  • Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.
  • Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
  • Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.
  • Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred. Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.
