General Description/Primary Purpose:

The School of Computing is seeking a 9 month, tenure- earning, Assistant Professor. This position will report to Dr. Nan Niu, Professor, Director of School of Computing. Position responsibilities include teaching two courses per semester in fall and spring, research, and service.

Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on August 3, 2026.

Working Hours: Varies

Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role

About the Department:

The School of Computing offers undergraduate academic programs in computer science, data science, information systems, information technology, information science, and financial technology (fintech), a Master's program in Computing and Information Sciences with concentrations in computer science, data science, cybersecurity, and information systems, and a PhD program with concentrations in cybersecurity and intelligent systems. The School of Computing continues to grow its students' body, research productivity, and successful partnerships with the Northeast Florida community while supporting its faculty as internationally recognized scholars. Required Qualifications:

The successful candidates must have an earned Ph.D. degree (or will earn a Ph.D. degree by August 2026) in the field of Computing from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

Applicants with research interests in all areas of computing are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated potential to be actively involved in service activities, including participation in governance in accordance with the vision and mission of the School, College and University. They must also demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and in research.
