Job Description

Job Summary

Maintain all industrial machinery lubricated

Pay Rate between $25.96 and $28.96 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Monitor Fluid Levels: Regularly inspect and maintain oil reservoir levels for hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Clean spill trays associated with hydraulic units to ensure a safe and environmentally compliant workspace.
  • Fuel Equipment: Refill diesel fuel in Liebherr machinery on a nightly basis to ensure operational readiness.
  • Track Fluid Usage: Maintain accurate records of hydraulic oil consumption and report any irregular usage patterns.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor lubricant and oil inventory levels and promptly notify appropriate personnel of low stock or replenishment needs.
  • Environmental Compliance: Keep oil storage and containment areas clean, organized, and compliant with environmental regulations. This includes the glycol tank area, AW-68 room, and all hydraulic unit containment zones across the facility.
  • Inspect and Replace Components: Identify and replace worn hydraulic hoses as needed to prevent equipment failure.
  • Filter Maintenance: Replace hydraulic oil filter cartridges based on system indicators or preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Tank Management: Ensure all portable hydraulic and diesel tanks are filled prior to the end of each shift.
  • Accumulator Servicing: Test, recharge, and replace accumulator bladders as necessary to maintain system performance.
  • Lubricate and Grease Equipment: Perform routine lubrication and greasing of plant machinery and mechanical components in accordance with maintenance specifications and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Report Equipment Issues: Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors regarding any machinery defects, leaks, or malfunctions.
  • Winterization Duties: During winter months, fill heaters in TR Flex and bundling areas to maintain operational conditions.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support maintenance and reliability operations.

All rates are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and lubrication principles.
  • Preventive Maintenance Knowledge: Familiarity with PM schedules, oil analysis, and filter replacement procedures.
  • Tool Proficiency: Ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment for hose replacement, accumulator servicing, and system inspections
