Medical Director, Clinical Platform & Innovation

About the Role

We’re looking for a technically fluent, clinically rigorous Medical Director of Clinical Platform & Innovation to join us as a senior clinical hire. In this foundational role, you’ll lead the development of our clinical platform, help expand into new service lines, and act as a key thought partner across Product, Engineering, Data, and Care.

You’ll also serve as a direct manager and advisor to our Clinical Operations team—supporting providers, resolving care coordination challenges, and helping scale clinical systems with quality and efficiency at the core. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys balancing high-level strategy with deep operational involvement.

This is a full-time, in-office position at our downtown San Francisco HQ.

What You’ll Do

• Drive the development of Mochi’s clinical platform, translating clinical insight into product specs, tooling, and workflows

• Design and implement AI-powered tools to support documentation, triage, and decision-making at scale

• Lead protocol design and rollout for new service lines and product verticals—ensuring care is efficient, compliant, and clinically sound

• Lead research initiatives with the opportunity to publish and shape best practices

• Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Data to embed clinical excellence in everything we build

Who You Are

• MD or MD/MBA with strong clinical training and product sensibility

• Comfortable collaborating directly with engineers and data scientists; SQL familiarity is a plus

• Thoughtful communicator who can move between detail and strategy with ease

• Operates well in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments—strong judgment and execution ability

• Startup or healthtech platform experience is a plus

The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $250,000 to $300,000, in addition to equity and benefits. The salary range listed in each job posting represents the minimum and maximum targets for new hire salaries across all locations. Actual compensation within this range is determined by various factors, such as job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and location.
