Lead Engineer

MoviePass is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team. As a Lead Engineer, you will play a key role in leading the development team and driving technology innovation for our entertainment platform. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing our systems to enhance the customer experience. You will report to our CTO and work closely with cross-functional teams to lead the technical roadmap, ensure the quality of our products, and mentor other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technology development efforts and ensure the delivery of high-quality products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build complex systems
• Develop and implement new features and functionalities to improve our platform
• Own the development process from design to deployment
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends to ensure our technology remains competitive
• Coach and mentor other engineers on technical best practices and code optimization
• Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to improve our platform’s performance and scalability

Requirements

10+ years of professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with Scala
5+ years of experience building software products on AWS or GCP
5+ years of experience with SQL and No-SQL databases such Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon RDS, SQL Server, REDIS
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience, micro service architecture
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Strong experience designing and implementing event driven big data systems using cloud technologies such as Kafka, SNS/SQS, Lambda, API Gateways, EC2, Docker
Experience with Java is a plus
Familiarity with Agile Methodology
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
