The Childcare Coordinator works with the Resettlement Team to provide childcare and educational experiences for refugee and immigrant children while parents participate in group programming at World Relief Durham.

The Childcare Coordinator works with the Resettlement Team to provide childcare and educational experiences for refugee and immigrant children while parents participate in group programming at World Relief Durham.
Role & Responsibilities
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Plan supervision periods and content for non-English speaking children in indoor setting of 8-10 children at a time.
- Facilitate the sign-in and sign-out of children by parents
- Adapt and deliver basic preschool curriculums, including reading of stories and practicing English letters, to non-English speaking
- Ensure childcare space is clean and free of hazards
- Engage parents of children to ensure any special needs of individual children are met
- Liaise with case workers to collaborate on emerging needs of children enrolled in programming
- Supervise distribution of health snacks to children in childcare programming
- Maintain accurate and descriptive case notes for each child’s program participation
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Deeply committed to the care and welfare of children
- Ability to be flexible to respond to changing needs of children and families
- Conversational fluency in written and spoken English
- Bilingual preferred
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain CPR certification
Requirements
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Minimum 6 months’ experience in childcare or educational setting
- Microsoft Office skill
