A Day in the Life

The Principal Business Process Improvement Analyst leads complex, cross-functional initiatives to improve business processes, strengthen master data integrity, and enable scalable operational execution across the enterprise. This role partners closely with Operating Unit R&D, Finance, Service PMO, IT, and Corporate Master Data teams to identify business pain points, translate them into actionable process and data requirements, and implement sustainable solutions. The position plays a critical role in driving first-time-right material creation, financial master data alignment, service revenue reporting, and global service parts process standardization.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead cross-functional business process improvement initiatives focused on service & repair and master data management.
  • Coordinate master data improvement efforts by analyzing and developing upstream material creation processes across 14 Operating Units and 3 or more PLM systems to enable first-time-right setup.
  • Translate business pain points into clear process, data, and system requirements; partner with OU R&D, Service PMO, Finance, and IT teams to implement solutions.
  • Partner with Finance across 14 Operating Units to align financial master data ahead of FY28 deadlines and ensure accurate service revenue capture.
  • Collaborate with IT to enhance financial reporting and enable service revenue carve-out reporting.
  • Support the rollout of enterprise master data governance capabilities and ensure Service requirements are represented and delivered.
  • Develop and implement a scalable global material extension process for service parts.
  • Drive master data cleanup and implement ongoing monitoring processes to sustain data quality.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting that simplifies complex master data topics into actionable business insights.
  • Lead additional service and repair process improvement projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience,
  • Or, an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience leading cross‑functional business process improvement initiatives within service, operations, or supply chain environments
  • Knowledge of enterprise master data domains such as material master, product master, or financial master data
  • Familiarity with material creation and material extension processes within enterprise systems
  • Previous experience collaborating with R&D, Finance, IT, and operations teams to translate business needs into process or system improvements
  • Skills in applying Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to identify bottlenecks and improve operational efficiency
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across operating units and functions without direct authority in a matrixed environment
  • Experience supporting master data governance, data quality improvement, or enterprise data standardization initiatives
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP platforms supporting product, service, or financial master data processes
  • Exposure to service and repair, post‑market service, or operational support environments
  • Ability to analyze workflows, map processes, and implement scalable improvements that increase throughput or productivity
  • Experience managing projects involving both business process changes and supporting IT enhancements
