Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW: 

The Director of IT Operations is dedicated to overseeing the daily operations of the IT Service Desk and Infrastructure teams. This individual must strive to not only keep the “lights on” but be instrumental in the strategy, engineering, and project delivery required to meet Stream’s current and future business needs.

This individual must improve IT process maturity around IT Operations implementing processes and procedures that do not exist or should be modernized and adhering to existing processes and procedures. This individual will be instrumental in implementing IT Infrastructure governance, automation, asset management, budgeting, forecasting, and providing KPI’s that will help shape the future of Stream’s IT Operations and Infrastructure. 

Additionally, this individual will serve as the hands-on project manager for IT Operations and Infrastructure projects of importance to Stream.  Maturing standards and processes will often be generated as a byproduct of project delivery versus a sole focus.

Finally, this role requires versatility to meet the dynamic business environment at Stream as market conditions, business strategies, and business priorities continuously evolve.  The “grit” to do-what-it-takes is required of all Stream IT team members.

For this role, success is measured in the increasingly predictable delivery of Stream IT Support services that meet the required quality, and efficiency that meet Stream’s business needs. Success is codependent on building collaborative working relationships across business functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

IT Leadership:

• Participate actively as a member of the IT senior leadership team to ensure Stream’s business needs are met and priorities and resources are aligned across the IT organization. 
• Collaboratively solve IT and business challenges with an openness to alternative points of view
• Coach and mentor IT and business personnel to improve Stream’s overall IT process maturity

IT Governance:

• Develop key governance processes, tools, templates, and role definitions for Cloud Systems, Network Infrastructure, Service Desk: planning, solutioning, prioritization.
• Develop key governance processes, tools, and templates for the delivery of required services and resources to meet IT and business projects with the correct execution and oversight.
• Support the ongoing execution of key governance processes.

Vendor Management:

• Maintain inventory of key IT vendor contracts including abstracting key terms, expiration and renewal dates, and lead times.
• Lead or support negotiation of selected IT vendor contracts.
• Develop periodic vendor scorecards and review processes.

Financial Management:

• Develop annual and monthly IT spending projections for Operations and Infrastructure supporting services.
• Review actual spending including identification and analysis of key variances to projections.

Infrastructure and Operations:

• Problem and Incident Management:
  • Serve as a key point of escalation as required for high-severity issues including:
    • Organize and oversee the triage and response team
    • Effective, timely, and diplomatic communication with impacted stakeholders
