Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking full-time New Grad RNs for our Operating Room Academy & Nurse Residency at Wilkes Medical Center, located in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. A New Graduate Nurse is either a current nursing student nearing graduation from an RN program or a recent graduate with less than six months of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.

- Nurse Residency Program: New Graduate RNs at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist receive supportive training led by dedicated nurse educators, including clinical orientation, specialty-specific learning, and skill-building in clinical decision-making, teamwork, communication, and career development.
About the OR Academy:
- Stage I: Commences with a comprehensive week of General Nursing Orientation followed by five weeks of immersive classes, featuring a blend of lectures, engaging discussions, skill training, return demonstrations, observational learning, and simulation exercises.
- Stage II: Dive into clinical rotations, with an emphasis on the care of surgical patients, covering both the vital circulator and scrub roles. Gain invaluable hands-on experience by working closely with dedicated preceptors in the OR, allowing you to develop the essential skills and knowledge required to provide safe and effective patient care.

Job Summary
The New Graduate Nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They lead and direct other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
What You’ll Need
- Less than 6 months of RN experience
- Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire, per unit guidelines
