In 2016, we moved to our new, state-of-the-art college prep campus in Delano, and in the Fall of 2017, added an elementary school in Delano and opened a second charter school in Lost Hills. In Delano, we serve over 1,800 students in grades TK-12, while in Lost Hills, we serve over 400 students in grades TK-12.

Job Description
WCPA Delano, dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment, is seeking a vigilant and proactive ELOP Campus Security (part-time). The primary focus of this role is to monitor and mitigate external threats, intrusions, and unauthorized individuals to ensure the safety of students, staff, and school property, as well as provide de-escalation support during high-traffic times, such as during arrival and dismissal. This position requires strong observational skills, situational awareness, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to potential security or safety concerns.
Essential Job Functions:
- Arrival and Dismissal: Provide support to campus personnel during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal in areas such as parking lots, entrances/exits, managing and de-escalating situations involving disruptive parents or visitors.
- Perimeter Monitoring: Conduct regular patrols of the school campus, including external areas such as parking lots, entrances, vendor gates, and boundaries, to identify and address potential security risks.
- Threat Detection: Monitor external threats, including unauthorized individuals, suspicious activities, or potential intrusions, using observation, security cameras, and other surveillance tools.
- Access Control: Ensure all entry points are staffed, secured, and validate the identity of visitors, and enforce school access policies to prevent unauthorized entry.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, such as trespassing or suspicious behavior, following established protocols to de-escalate situations and coordinate with school administration or law enforcement as needed.
- Surveillance System Management: Operate and monitor security cameras and alarms, ensuring equipment is functional and reporting any malfunctions for timely repairs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with administrators, staff, and local law enforcement to maintain a secure environment and share relevant security updates.
- Emergency Preparedness: Assist in implementing and practicing emergency procedures, including lockdowns or evacuations, to prepare for external threats.
- Reporting: Document all security incidents, observations, and activities in detailed reports, maintaining accurate records for school records and potential investigations.
- Visitors: Support Vendor/visitor check-in procedures and ensure all vendors and guests follow campus safety protocols.
- Training: Attend training sessions and meetings related to school safety, crisis response, and Campus Supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.

Monday-Thursday 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Friday 11:30 AM - 6:30 PM
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Additional training or certification in security practices (e.g., guard card, CPR/First Aid) is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a school or educational setting is a plus.
