About the role
Description
As a General Machinist, person in this position would act as a floating employee to support all manufacturing departments as needed for business needs. Different areas include but not limited to CNC operator, manual lathes, grinding, etc. Ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and a keen eye for detail, ensuring the production of high-quality ballscrews that meet stringent specifications and standards.
This is a second (2) shift position that will be training on first (1) shift.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various types of machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and saws
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine machining operations
- Set up machines to produce parts according to specifications
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper functioning and quality control
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
- Proficient in operating and maintaining various types of machines
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work second (2) shift after completion of training on first (1) shift.
