General Machinist

Description

As a General Machinist, person in this position would act as a floating employee to support all manufacturing departments as needed for business needs. Different areas include but not limited to CNC operator, manual lathes, grinding, etc. Ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and a keen eye for detail, ensuring the production of high-quality ballscrews that meet stringent specifications and standards.

This is a second (2) shift position that will be training on first (1) shift.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain various types of machines such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and saws
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine machining operations
• Set up machines to produce parts according to specifications
• Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper functioning and quality control
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
• Proficient in operating and maintaining various types of machines
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to work second (2) shift after completion of training on first (1) shift.
