We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Environmntal Health and Safety Specialist. This position reports to the General Manager and will work in Limerick, Pennsylvania.

About the position

The Environmntal Health and Safety Specialist of the Limerick team,

promotes a positive safety culture for the Limerick site while maintaining compliance with OSHA and Dometic EH&S standards to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This includes conducting trainings and coaching associates on observed work habits. The EHS Specialist serves as a SME for Marine sites and will be part of the corporate reporting initiatives for site safety metrics. 

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Limerick Site Responsibilities

    • The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is required to maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to the Limerick management teams and corporate based reporting systems.  
    • Chair the Limerick safety committee, providing technical assistance. Act in an advisory capacity to Limerick site management and supervisor teams on matters of injury and illness prevention, OSHA regulations, industrial hygiene and environmental regulations/requirements. 
    • Conduct safety inspections and surveys for the Limerick site. Investigate all injuries/illnesses, and near miss incidents. Providing recommendations via 5Y analysis for appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.  Prepare and report out on required injury and illness reports for the company and federal, state, and local agencies as required 
    • Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis or Job Safety Analysis) and new equipment introductions.  
    • Maintain, on a current basis, all plant Safety programs and manuals. 
    • Maintenance of hazard communications program designed to inform and protect the employees, public and environment of risks associated with products, materials and chemicals utilized at the workplace.  
    • Assist in the development, monitoring and execution of comprehensive spill prevention countermeasure sand contingency (SPCC) and Preparedness, Contingency and Countermeasure (PPC) programs. Administer stormwater monitoring and reporting 
    • Maintain working knowledge of new technologies, practices, standards and regulations developed by industry and government sources. 

     

     

    Corporate Responsibilities

    • Share best practices with multiple site HR, EHS, and Management teams
    • Develop and conduct new or specialized safety training programs, and facilitate multi-site roll-out as needed.
    • Provide counsel to EHS Leads concerning any necessary safety and health requirements involved with the procurement of machines, equipment, and hazardous materials
    • Ensure compliance with regulations, including local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety codes and standards.  
    • The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will coordinate the reporting of Marine site safety metrics
    • Serve as site contact and correspondence with OSHA as required
    • Monitor and control daily, weekly, and monthly safety layered Audit metrics (TIA System and others) across all Marine plants working with the local EHS leads to report to management teams and corporate as required.
    • Lead monthly Marine and inter segment EHS meetings, Represent Marine segments in corporate reviews and reporting, help driving corrective actions and safety improvements activities across all Marine locations.
