Truveta was born in the Pacific Northwest, but we have employees who live across the country. Our team enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid model and working from anywhere.  In person attendance is required for two weeks during the year for Truveta Planning Weeks.

For overall team productivity, we optimize meeting hours in the pacific time zone. We avoid scheduling recurring meetings that start after 3pm PT, however, ad hoc meetings occur between 8am-6pm Pacific time.

This Opportunity 

Reporting to the Director, Academic and Government Research Program, the Director, Academic Research Program will expand strategic engagements with academic medical and research organizations interested in conducting research with real world data.  You will leverage your clinical research expertise and deep familiarity with the academic community to demonstrate the value of Truveta to prospective customers and drive adoption of Truveta Studio in the Academic Research space. As the Director of Truveta’s academic research program, you will have a strong background in health care, real world data (RWD), and research skills necessary to analyze RWD.   

Responsibilities

  • Research network growth: 
    • Own the Business Development effort to promote Truveta Studio's adoption and use by academic medical centers and research organizations. 
    • Independently present Truveta to emerging academic and research partners highlighting Truveta’s value proposition within that organization and demonstrating a deep understanding of Real-World Data as it pertains to their use cases. 
  • Account management within partner academic medical centers and research organizations:  
    • Develop and implement scalable processes and systems to support business expansion including ensuring awareness of Truveta as a value-add resource in new grant opportunities or existing research initiatives. 
    • Support identification of potential grant opportunities for partnership with Truveta. 
  • Successfully manage and update Salesforce pipelines. 
  • Contribute to conversations with Marketing and Sales to drive opportunities for new research partnerships.
  • Model strict adherence to Truveta principles in support of ethical innovation and commit to ongoing training on key topics like privacy, ethics, and security

Key Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in healthcare data and analytics, preferably with Real-World Data (RWD) application in the context of academic medical centers and research organizations 
  • Proven ability to maintain and expand long-term partnerships with academic medical centers and research organizations 
  • Familiarity with RWD acquisition process by academic medical centers and research organizations 
  • Comfort discussing RWD and familiarity with the RWD competitive landscape 
  • Understanding of research funding processes 
  • Comfortable with understanding and explaining RWD populations queries and study design.  
  • Familiarity with R, SQL, and/or Python and notebooks is a plus but not a necessity. Not expected to develop advanced applications but should be able to present coding examples for clarification and appreciate the work required to develop in the Studio platform.  
  • Demonstrated success in communicating effectively with executives, and in translating complex clinical research and domain-specific topics into simplified language for a non-research audience 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience developing meaningful external relationships 
  • Prior experience in a start-up setting, and having the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is preferred 
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM and various email automation tools (preferred) 
  • Experience with conveying the Voice of the Customer to internal stakeholders
