Role Overview:
Sr. Specialist, Laboratory Instrumentation is responsible for installations, configurations, troubleshooting and qualifications of laboratory instrumentation within the Kriya laboratories. This role ensures laboratory equipment operates reliably to support product testing, method validation, and quality control operations while maintaining compliance with regulations and internal quality standards. In addition, they are responsible for understanding the data each instrument generates and assist in the development of a data storage and integrity plan.
Key Responsibilities
• Management of laboratory instrument inventory including hardware, software, and configurations.
• Laboratory instrument lifecycle activities including onboarding, validation, support, and retirement in both GxP and Non-GxP laboratory environments.
• Ensure all laboratory instruments are properly configured and integrated to the company network, where applicable
• Collaborate with IT to ensure all paper and/or electronic records align with company data integrity standards • Lead authoring and execution of CSV/CSA validation documentation for all laboratory instruments
• Assist with change management for laboratory software systems
• Oversee periodic assessments of system and user access for laboratory systems throughout system lifecycle
• Develop plans for integrating laboratory instruments into lab informatics systems or other data repositories
• Lead and direct contractors or vendor resources supporting lab instrument activities.
Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, life science or related field
• 5+ years of experience in cGMP and pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceuticals including CSV, QA IT, or direct instrument support.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
• Academic or industry experience operating lab systems and managing associated data is preferred.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot system issues
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Good customer/client relationship management and proactive problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
• Primarily desk-based, generally in an office or home office setting
• May involve extended periods of sitting and computer use
• Weekend/off-hours work may be required
