The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will deliver comprehensive, evidence-based clinical care to clients seeking maternity, family planning, and STD services. The incumbent in this position is anticipated to work an average of twenty hours per week.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

1. Prenatal, Postpartum, and Reproductive Health Services
   1. Conduct thorough prenatal, postpartum, and reproductive health assessments.
   2. Diagnose and manage routine conditions related to maternal, gynecological, and pregnancy care.
   3. Prescribe medications and coordinate prenatal care plans using evidence-based practices.
   4. Perform routine screenings, including fetal monitoring, ultrasounds, and relevant lab tests.
2. Family Planning and Contraceptive Services
   1. Educate patients and families on pregnancy, postpartum care, and contraceptive options.
   2. Obtain medical histories, conduct physical assessments, and determine appropriate contraceptive methods.
   3. Initiate and manage the contraceptive method of choice after informed evaluation.
   4. Provide non-prescriptive contraceptives, fit diaphragms, and administer Depo-Provera.
   5. Insert and remove IUDs and long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs).
   6. Deliver inter-conceptual and pre-conceptual health counseling and services.
   7. Guide decisions regarding oral contraceptive use and provide pregnancy testing and counseling.
3. STD and HIV Services
   1. Assess, diagnose, and treat common STDs and minor gynecological issues.
   2. Offer HIV pre-counseling and post-counseling as appropriate.
   3. Conduct PAP smears and coordinate follow-up for abnormal results.
   4. Refer clients to specialized gynecologic services (e.g., cryocautery, colposcopy) as needed.
4. Documentation and Professional Judgment
   1. Maintain complete and accurate client records according to program guidelines.
   2. Exercise sound professional judgment and seek medical consultation when needed.
   3. Provide verbal and written contraceptive instructions and obtain informed consent.
   4. Perform ongoing client reassessments, education, and counseling
5. Collaboration & Team Support
   1. Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
   2. Support the integration of maternity care services within the clinic and assist in improving workflows.
   3. Provide guidance and clinical leadership to nursing and support staff
6. Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
   1. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
   2. Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and public health guidelines.
   3. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maternity program development.

Qualifications:

Minimum –

• Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in accordance with F.S. 464
• One year of clinical experience
• Experience in Women’s Health, Family Practice, or Midwifery

Preferred –

• Certification in Women’s Health, Family Practice, or Midwifery
• Experience with
