About the role

Job Details:

This position is responsible for dumping catch cages onto the live-hang belt and monitoring the outfeed of empty cages. 


Job Synopsis:  The Cage Dump Operator advances the row of full cages until the next one is in place for dumping.  Once sufficient space exists on the live hang rollers, the operator dumps the cage on the live hanger belt.  The operator lowers the cage and checks for any remaining birds.  Birds that remain in the cage or on the cage deck are cleared with a hook and placed onto the live conveyor. Finally, the operator advances the empty cage to the “exit rollers” and advances the next full cage into position for dumping. The cage dump operator will also keep track of the current lot and lot changes.

  • Must be able to operate Cage Dump machine 
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work overtime (as needed)  
  • Must be able to work weekends (as needed)
  • Must be dependable and reliable
  • Must be Safety Minded 
  • Must be able to follow instructions properly

Compensation: $17.95/hr

Hours: 2nd Shift

Other Hiring Criteria:

  • Accepting Rehires: Yes
  • 3 x Rule: If you have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times you are ineligible for rehire.
  • Rehire waiting period: 6 months or 180 days.
  • 3 months of work experience in past 12 months
  • 6 months of machine operator experience within the past 2 years. Experience may be combined across multiple employers to meet the 6-month requirement.
