The Pharmacy Compounding Technician works with cutting edge technology to compound personalized therapies in a clean room environment. The Pharmacy Compounding Technician is essential to ensuring patients receive their medications in a timely manner, utilizing clinical and IV/TPN knowledge alongside the pharmacists to provide specialty infusion products for administration directly in our patients’ homes.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies using appropriate techniques and following OneHome Pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Understands and can perform basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct doses of medications.
- Prepares medications under the supervision of a pharmacist so they are accurately compounded. Ensures that a licensed pharmacist properly checks all compounding and packing. Adheres to appropriate safety and quality assurance practices. Complies with state and federal laws.
- Speaks knowledgeably of the scope of services that are available through OneHome Pharmacy. Understands basic drug terminology and therapies/services provided. Understands other areas of OneHome Pharmacy and what scope of service the company has to offer.
- Excellent customer service, both verbal and written, and computer skills
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
- Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary Option Care information. Understands and complies with HIPPA.
- Participates in the process for assessing, managing, and reporting medication-related incidents and equipment errors and/or failures.
- Assists with the training and supervision of new pharmacy technician in all activities, complies with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements
- performs all required cleaning and disinfecting tasks in the pharmacy area, anteroom, hazardous drug (HD) room, and buffer room, including shelves, equipment’s, LAFHs, etc. Cleaning operations are performed following scheduled policies and procedure.

- Participates in on-call responsibilities of the pharmacy department if required.

Regulatory Requirements- Maintaining the pharmacy clean room suite to USP 797 requirements
- Garbing, equipment calibration, and maintenance of product preparation and equipment logs to USP 797 standards and OneHome policy.
- Participation in company quality improvement initiatives and professional competencies, including garbing, hand washing, and media-fill test, per USP 797 and company policy.
- Active state Pharmacy Technician license required as outlined by State guidelines.
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience
- Basic computer and delivery systems knowledge

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
