This is a full-time Career Service position.
Regular business hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday to Friday.
Location: 2415 N. Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32303.
THIS IS NOT A TELEWORK POSITION. THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK IN THE OFFICE.
Salary: $47,500 minimum annual.
Some travel required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Attach a copy of a cover letter along with a resume to your completed application.
- Five years of professional experience in human resources, including recruitment and selection. Responsibilities should encompass evaluating candidate eligibility, created and maintaining employment advertisements, conducting interviews, managing confidential information, handling personnel files, researching laws and technical guidelines, and/or training teams on policy and best practices.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution may substitute for four years of the required work experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint.
- A valid driver's license is required, as travel may be necessary for attending off-site job fairs, interviews and meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience working with the State Personnel System (People First) as a recruiter or hiring specialist, or serving as a supervisor within in a government entity.
- Experience reviewing and analyzing data, creating reports, and presenting results.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and demonstrated experience in their use.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow, Smartsheet, MS Visio, or PowerBI software.
- Notary Public certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain certification.
Job Description:
This is a highly responsible professional role within the Economic Self-Sufficiency (ESS) Program, focused on driving Human Resources-related improvements within ESS Headquarters (HQ) program offices. Reporting to the Headquarters Director of Business Operations, the incumbent provides strategic Human Resources (HR) support by developing talent acquisition and recruitment strategies that align with the agency’s mission and goals. This position requires building strong relationships with hiring managers to ensure effective sourcing strategies and timely execution of recruitment plans. Additionally, the role involves statewide travel to engage with regional contacts and participate in recruitment and hiring events. The incumbent may also be required to assist in Disaster Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (DSNAP) efforts during emergency situations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Plans, organizes, and oversees improvement initiatives, including business process enhancements, to ensure consistent application of federal, state, and departmental policies.
- Policy Implementation & Compliance: Provides training and guidance to statewide ESS teams, supports change management efforts, and integrates process improvement tools to ensure uniform application of policies.
- Classification & Compensation Analysis: Reviews and prepares classification and compensation requests, including position changes, reorganizations, pay adjustments, and salary exceptions for leadership review. Ensures compliance
