The Protected Communications Systems (PCS) Hardware Department within the Collins Mission Systems organization has an exciting opportunity for a Electrical/Microwave Senior Engineering Section Manager to join our team. This position is for a Senior Manager to lead one of the Electrical/Microwave Engineering and Design Sections within the Protected Communications Systems Hardware Department.
What You Will Do
• Lead approximately 12 electrical/microwave engineers
• Work with other Electrical, FPGA and Mechanical Section Managers and Leads
• Review performance and career development of all members of the section
• Perform Key roles on programs and perform special assignments as needed
• Interface with other department section managers, engineers, designers, and test equipment personnel, as well as managers and engineers from other disciplines, along with program management and external customers
Qualifications You Must Have
• Ability to apply electrical/microwave engineering knowledge to solve complex design problems
• Extensive experience with RF and Microwave electronic hardware such as frequency references, fixed and agile frequency synthesizers, upconverters/exciters, downconverters/receivers, and low noise amplifiers, for satellite communication and RADAR systems
• Experience working independently in a complex system integration environment, verifying requirements and identifying and correcting defects
• Ability to lead design teams from product concept definition to production
• Ability to interact productively with other team members across various disciplines, including systems engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program management
• Ability to perform as a change agent
• Experience with program cost and schedule monitoring and reporting
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
• ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance or HIGHER REQUIRED
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
• Experience with solid state amplifiers based on GaAs and or GaN technology
• 5+ years of experience in Task Management or other Lead roles on Development programs
• Working knowledge of military and commercial design, materials, and process specifications
• Able to identify and communicate technical issues and risks that may impact cost, schedule, or other aspects of product design
• Experience in Business capture activities, bid package generation, and Basis of Estimates (BoE)
• Experience as an IPT/CPT Lead, Chief Engineer or Program Manager
• EVMS Certified and professional exposure to EVMS or similar budget tracking system
• Excellent presentation and technical writing skills
• Experience in a product data management environment (PTC Windchill, or similar)
• Experience with RTX policies and processes
