Pediatric Neurosurgeon – Faculty Position at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health

The Department of Neurological Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center invites applications for a full-time Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure track) faculty position specializing in pediatric neurosurgery. The selected candidate will join our pediatric neurosurgery division based at Children’s Health, our longstanding partner hospital located in Dallas, Texas.

This position is ideal for a pediatric neurosurgeon committed to providing outstanding clinical care while contributing to the department’s missions in education, research, and academic leadership. The role will focus on pediatric brain and spine disorders, including congenital and acquired conditions, craniofacial abnormalities, tumors, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, trauma, and complex spinal pathology. Pediatric neurosurgery call coverage at Children’s Health is required.

As a key faculty member, the appointee will actively participate in the training of neurosurgery residents and medical students and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team across neurology, oncology, critical care, and other pediatric specialties.

 

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Neurological Surgery
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Neurosurgery
  • Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in Texas (or able to obtain prior to appointment)
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, and academic productivity in pediatric neurosurgery
  • Commitment to teamwork, communication, and leadership in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Experience mentoring learners and working in an academic or teaching hospital setting
  • Academically qualified for faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at UT Southwestern
