The Opportunity
This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will Oversee overall operations engineering activities at a manufacturing site(s). Ensure products are manufactured consistently, based on Abbott quality standards to meet market demands. This is an onsite opportunity in Buffalo Grove, IL or Austin, TX.
What You’ll Do
- Leads end-to-end project management to ensure projects are executed on time and within budget.
- Ensures the performance, output, and continuous improvement of a significant number of fully and/or partly automated lines/processes.
- Oversees and manages all operations engineering activities across multiple product lines and shifts at a manufacturer site(s).
- Anticipates and resolves high-level issues and conflicts impacting operations success.
- Makes difficult decisions regarding priorities among projects / programs.
- Anticipates and identifies areas of strategic and tactical risk, mitigating risks through early risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Sets and monitors performance and value indicators, leading project audits (scope, schedule, quality, cost) and adjusting as required.
- Accountable for operational efficiencies and optimisations into manufacturing processes
- Initiates and cultivates open, honest relationships with colleagues, customers, contractors, and vendors by establishing rapport, developing an understanding of others’ needs, promoting common goals, and following through on commitments.
- Drive department financial budget planning and generation of multi-year planning.
- Hires, retains, and develops a diverse, highly qualified engineering team; provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
- Support the development of new and existing products, materials, and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Leads cross-functional relationships with R&D, Quality, Clinical, Regulatory, and other departments to meet quality, cost, and supply chain objectives.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, and other regulatory requirements by developing, implementing, and monitoring systems and procedures.
- Uphold company initiatives and ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS)
