Operator II, Production

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Operator II, Production primary responsibility is to safely package containers following ChemTreat policy and procedures, lend support to Blend Operator and assume responsibilities of Blend Operator when necessary.​ 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• ​​ ​​Package various sizes of finished products into designated containers. 
• ​Perform basic functions in Ignition, i.e., open/close blend vat valve and initiate rinse cycle.  
• ​Place appropriate barcodes on finished products, identifying NCM material.​ 
• Ensuring materials are available when needed.  Pulling samples for Blend Operator and maintaining communication. 
• Blend finished goods products using hazardous and non hazardous materials. 
• Notify Production Foreman and Blend Operator of any problems.   
• Coordinate information with other departments.   
• Ensure all safety equipment is worn and put away. 
• Check for accuracy of floor scales.   
• Ensure all hoses and other equipment is completely operational and clean. 
• Ability to safely operate a forklift. 

SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• ​​Daily inspection of forklift. 
• ​Assist in Production cycle counts. 
• ​Ensure work area cleaned and organized. 
• ​Lock access points of entry and turn on/off pumps. 
• ​Back-up Blend Operator when necessary. 
• ​Back-up Bulk loader 
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma, familiar with OSHA and DOT regulation preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Routinely required to walk, stand, sit, step up or climb (includes stairs and industrial vehicles), balance, stoop, bend, kneel, squat/crouch, turn/twist, crawl, talk, hear, and smell 
• Ability to use hands and fingers to reach, grip, hold, feel or operate objects/equipment, computer keyboards and tablets
• ​Routinely required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 55 pounds without assistance
• Physical environment requires work both inside in heat/cold  and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions
• ​Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus 
• ​This role is a safety-sensitive position, must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform essential functions and/or job responsibilities

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT

• ​​This is a specialty chemical blending and packaging facility where hazardous materials are present. 
• ​Will be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures and work space restrictions.  
• ​Required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective apron, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. 
• ​The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.  
• ​Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.​
