Position Specific Description

Our Power Delivery Business Unit is looking for a Lead Project Manager – Fiber to support the Smart Grid Team.  The Lead Project Manager will drive the Optical Ground Wire (OPGW)/Distribution of fiber design along with joint development of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network with our IT Team.  This position will bridge the gap between existing/proposed OPGW/Distribution fiber facilities, fiber network requirements, verification of field conditions with Field Operations and capturing of these in fiber strand management system.  You will also be a part of a team developing network design, ordering and turn up of MPLS network on fiber infrastructure.

 

This position can be filled in the tri-county region of Florida.

Job Overview

Employees in this role lead multiple cross-functional project teams consisting of matrixed or direct reporting relationships to meet or exceed Transmission and Substation safety, reliability, financial and schedule goals while ensuring compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements for assigned company projects. Individuals generate product schedules based on stakeholder input and maintain adherence to them to meet in service dates. This position is responsible for reviewing actual spend compared to forecast spend based on project schedule progress for assigned projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Coordinates with project engineering, construction leads, transmission system planning, as well as other departments throughout the company
•   Develops and updates project schedules, budget forecasts, and cash flows
•   Mentors and trains other project managers, project engineers, or construction leads
•   Leads meetings associated with assigned projects
•   Updates business unit leadership on project status
•   Assesses potential Transmission and Substation projects for feasibility
•   Communicates project specifications to internal and external personnel at all levels
•   Manages multiple complex projects successfully at any given time
•   Acts as project sponsor for Total Safety Culture for assigned project teams
•   Meets attendance and storm duty requirements
•   Works extended hours, as needed
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's - Engineering
•  Experience:7+ years

Preferred Qualifications


•  Project Management Professional (PMP)
