Job Title: Regional Sales Manager, West Coast
Summary: The Regional Sales Manager, West Coast is responsible for selling United Safety products to transit bus end users. This position will be responsible and accountable for developing and managing relations with transit bus customers in their territories, understanding the market and their customer’s requirements, and demonstrating consistent closing techniques in securing orders. This will be accomplished via customer interface (sales calls, telephone calls, e-mails, mailers, trade shows, etc.). The sales representative for transit bus sales’ performance will be measured on the successful execution of the responsibilities listed herein.
As a Regional Sales Manager, West Coast, a typical day may include:
- Achieving sales objectives by researching customers’ needs and providing solutions in a professional and effective manner.
- Identifying and managing sales leads and prospects, assisting customers in developing specifications utilizing products, and aiding in contract negotiations to sell products in line with business agreed objectives.
- Establishing and maintaining industry and governmental contacts in an effort to further develop market penetration.
- Managing and reporting sales results, potential sales, customer feedback and activity plans as required and maintaining forecast and customer contact through Salesforce CRM.
- Possessing up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that impact target markets.
- Identifying, selecting, and attending industry specific trade shows and seminars as applicable.
- Identify opportunities to deliver virtual webinars, assist in building the material and where appropriate deliver the presentation
- Participating as a member in specific local trade and/or industry associations as appropriate.
- Establishing, maintaining, and growing customer base; arranging technical presentations, demonstrations and/or site visits.
- Managing customer relationships for all major accounts in the assigned market and providing answers to pre-sales technical and commercial queries, superior customer service, and product training.
- Collecting customer feedback and market research; assisting in development of marketing and sales strategies to be consistent with the overall goals and objectives of the business.
- Maintaining industry, product and competitor knowledge and informing United Safety of changing market conditions, product issues and competitive issues.
- Managing time and resources effectively to meet sales objectives; effectively scheduling trips for travel which will be required a minimum of 80% of the time.

- Performing other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational goals.
You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in the sales and marketing of products int eh mass transit industry.
- Industry knowledge and familiarity with general manufacturing concepts is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in current computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, and a solid understanding of a CRM, preferably Salesforce, experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Other highly preferred competencies Industry knowledge and familiarity with general manufacturing concepts. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, such as: FMVSS, DOT, APTA, and other related federal specifications.
