Summary

Under minimum supervision repairs and maintains the physical plant, buildings, furnishings, interior finishes, plumbing and electrical fixtures, equipment and machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufactures specifications. Repairs, and replaces defective parts, adjusts, lubricates and cleans parts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Minimum of five years related experience in an institutional environment. Must possess valid North Carolina driver’s license. Interface with employees, patients, visitors, vendors and contractors.Ability to move throughout the Medical Center. Visual acuity for reviewing written reports. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs for access to construction areas. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Exposed to temperature extremes from boiler room to air-conditioned areas. Work in areas of high tool noise levels. Exposure to high-speed cutting tools, electrical wires and equipment, sealing agents, adhesives and demolition debris. Work near machinery and resultant dust of construction.
