Job Description Summary

The Mechanical Monitoring Leader is responsible for the integrity, strategy, and operational governance of the global fleet’s mechanical assets. You will serve as the technical authority for dispositioning data, establishing fleet-wide inspection standards, and driving the integration of advanced analytics to ensure turbine reliability and performance.

This role acts as the primary bridge between data analytics, site operations, and core mechanical engineering.

Job Description

Roles & responsibilities

  • Strategy & Standardization
    • Own and maintain the Global Mechnaical Disposition Data for all core fleet turbines
    • Establish technical specifications for all inspection modalities for mechanical components (e.g., CMS, Visual/ Drone, Analytics).
    • Define the "Acceptance Criteria" for all diagnostic and visual data submitted by site teams or third-party contractors.
    • Partner with structures and machine head engineering, Digital team, Bladesl, electrical monitoring teams to develop integrated fleet monitoring view, data base for every operating units in core fleet.
    • Own execution of any Mechanical (Drive train, Structures, Bolted joint, Hub) tools & provide standard dispositions to any analytics findings
    • Partner with Data & analytics leader to ensure LAT, false positives, negatives for any fleet analytics tools used to monitor Drive train and other mechanical components
  • Engineering & Technical Integration
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the monitoring team and mech and machine head Engineering to translate fleet trends into design or manufacturing feedback.
    • Validate that all dispositions are aligned with standard disposition criteria underwritten by engineering
    • Develop / improve monitoring criteria for mechanical components.
    • Partner with structures fleet engineering leader to define emerging issues priorities.
  • Operational Oversight & Governance
    • Oversee the end-to-end workflow of core fleet mechanical components, ensuring every inspection / CMS is captured, analyzed, and dispositioned within defined underwritten criteria’s.
    • Manage the escalation process for critical findings that require immediate operational intervention (e.g., turbine shutdown or power derating).
    • Maintain real-time visibility dashboards for Fleet Performance Leaders, showing individual component health, repair status, and total fleet risk.
  • Innovation & Roadmap
    • Define the requirements for new diagnostic tools, including AI-driven image recognition, automated data processing, and remote sensing technologies.
    • Lead pilot programs to test and validate new monitoring technologies before fleet-wide deployment.
    • Continuously evolve the "Monitoring Roadmap" to incorporate emerging best practices in wind turbine structural health management.

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Fleet Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a bachelors degree in engineering with at least 3 years of direct Wind experience (or 10+ years of equivalent professional experience).

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, identify effective solutions, and resolve problems efficiently. Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Proven ability to document, plan, promote, and execute programs effectively.
  • Established project management skills.
