Overview

 

Job Title: Probitas Certified Aerospace AuditorLocation: Northeast Region, including but not limited to New England & Mid Atlantic Divisions -Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania and comfortable working as an Independent Contractor (1099).

Frequency: 1-3 Audits / Month or as needed 

 

 

Job Summary

Probitas Certified Aerospace Auditor to support internal audits, supplier audits, and compliance evaluations across global operations. This role ensures conformance to aerospace quality management systems (QMS), including AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and conduct quality management system audits in accordance with AS9100 standards and customer internal procedures.

  • Perform supplier audits and assessments, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Document audit findings clearly and accurately; provide detailed, actionable corrective action requests (CARs).

  • Follow up on nonconformance closures, validating root cause, corrective, and preventive actions.

  • Support certification and surveillance audits by external bodies (e.g., Nadcap, ISO registrars).

  • Interface with cross-functional teams including supply chain, engineering, operations, and compliance.

  • Participate in the development and improvement of auditing tools, procedures, and training programs.

  • Analyze audit results to identify systemic trends and provide quality performance metrics to leadership.

  • Provide coaching and mentorship to site personnel and suppliers on AS9100 compliance and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Probitas Authentication certification as a Lead Auditor to AS9100 (or AS9110/AS9120 as applicable).

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in quality assurance, quality auditing, or supplier quality roles within the aerospace/defense industry.

  • Working knowledge of AS9100D and other relevant standards (ISO 9001, AS9145, etc.).

  • Experience auditing production and special process controls, FAI (AS9102), and root cause analysis processes.

  • Proficient in using audit management software and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with supplier quality systems and portals (e.g., SAP, PRISM, TIPQA).

  • Familiarity with DFARS, ITAR, and export compliance.

  • Nadcap process knowledge or auditing experience.

  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.

Security Clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if required by position.
