This role is responsible for overseeing the design, assembly, testing, and maintenance of experimental equipment, prototypes, and specialized machinery. The position will serve as the technical authority for mechanical systems, ensuring reliability, safety, and innovation in support of R&D projects. 1. Leadership & Oversight - Lead and supervise the mechanical workshop team, assigning tasks and ensuring high-quality execution as well as operating and maintaining the infrastructure. - Develop best practices for preventive and corrective maintenance of research equipment and experimental setups. - Provide mentorship, training, and technical guidance to junior mechanics and technicians. 2. Technical Expertise - Oversee mechanical design, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes, test rigs, and custom equipment. - Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance protocols. - Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues in experimental systems. - Collaborate with R&D engineers and scientists to translate research concepts into functional mechanical solutions. 3. Operational Excellence - Manage workshop resources, tools, and inventory to support ongoing projects efficiently. - Coordinate with procurement for specialized parts, materials, and outsourced services. - Develop and document maintenance schedules, repair logs, and technical reports. 4. Innovation & R&D Support - Support the iterative development and testing of experimental machinery. - Provide input on mechanical feasibility, materials selection, and design improvements. - Participate in brainstorming sessions to enhance mechanical performance and reliability of prototypes.职位要求1. Relevant work experience in mechanical design. 2. Expert-level proficiency in CATIA V5 and 3DEXPERIENCE. 3. Funded experience with generative design tools (e.g. Grasshopper, or similar). 4.
