JOB DESCRIPTION:
POSITION SUMMARY:
1st Shift: 6:30 AM -2:30 PM Monday-Friday
To perform any or all of a variety of duties combining elements of assembly and material handling with clerical work such as recording of materials, loading, unloading, and moving materials in and out of storage and to work stations. May operate Tugger route.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Makes up boxes and containers.
- Opens containers, loads and unloads material, verifies receipt and shipment quantities.
- Records receipts and disbursement of material, includes locating and pulling (or preparing) packing lists on incoming material, verifying load quantities and accuracy of receiving documents to be furnished to receiving clerk along with freight bill.
- Posts receiving reports on material.
- Properly records quantity of material delivered to and from shop floor, stores or shipping and furnishes data as required.
- Prepares paperwork for shipping, packing, moving to shipping, etc.
- Uses banding equipment, wrapping equipment, stapler or other means necessary for packing, storage or shipment of material excluding rigging.
- Uses CRTs, forms and documents as necessary to develop and maintain proper inventory control recording and documentation. May include entry via CRTs.
- Moves material to and from various stations, load and unload (including scrap, waste, etc.) either by power truck or by hand as required.
- Keeps dock areas safe and clear of debris.
- Sorts and recycles shipping materials ensuring that the materials are properly separated for disposal.
- Operates trash compactor and cardboard bailer.
- Packs or repacks split-order material for proper storage, transit or shipment.
- Receives and delivers cardboard, wood, and other materials to production lines.
- Ensures proper storage of shipping materials.
- Utilizes safety equipment and observes all safety rules and practices.
- Performs record-keeping duties.
- Reports recognized defective material to supervisor.
- Follows all aspects of Standardized Work Instructions.
- Understands and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies (ISO14001). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regards to safety, health, and environmental concerns.
- Understands current quality policies and procedures (IATF 16949). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action in regards to product quality.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of high school diploma or GED
One year of experience in a manufacturing or distribution operation.
Is or must be able to become certified in operating a Powered Industrial Truck.
Uses hand tools and production equipment appropriate to the work performed.
