The Position

The role supports facility HVAC/Refrigeration systems by enhancing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring smooth operation of assigned processes.

 

Relationships

Reports to Associate Director of Maintenance. 

 

Essential Functions

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures in performance of assigned duties
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on HVAC & Refrigeration equipment
• Support the development & establishment of maintenance procedures, maintenance plans & spare parts lists for processes assigned
• Perform/ lead corrective & preventative maintenance on assigned process in a timely manner
• Train personnel in consistent operation, maintenance & response for all plantwide refrigeration systems
• Ensure all maintenance activities are correctly documented in SAP
• Partner with process owners to actively improve performance & reliability of process equipment
• Lead the growth & development of the maintenance team by training fellow technicians in areas of expertise as well as learning new systems
• Lead teams in Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools to establish Root Cause Analysis & resolve equipment issues
• Partner with Process Owners on practical changes or improvements to equipment & department work practices
• Partner with Responsible Engineers & Manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems
• Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
• Other accountabilities as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not requir
