As a Software Engineer Principal Senior within PNC's DNA Artificial Intelligence organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Responsibilities of Software Engineer Principal Senior include:

• Leads the design and evolution of enterprise GenAI platforms, with emphasis on Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and agent based systems that enable scalable, reusable capabilities.
• Provides hands on architectural leadership, defining and implementing GenAI patterns for retrieval, orchestration, tool using agents, and human in the loop workflows.
Establishes and governs application architectures, platforms, and integration standards, ensuring solutions meet enterprise, security, and responsible AI requirements.
• Collaborates closely with product, data, security, risk, and engineering teams to deliver production ready GenAI solutions and support complex integration and modernization efforts.
• Guides platform engineering best practices, independently solving complex architectural problems while balancing innovation, performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability.

Job Description

• Leads the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions across multiple product lines.
• Directs and consults on all phases of software engineering life cycle and troubleshoots technical problems as needed using agile methods.
• Leads complex problem solving and resolves workflow problems through automation optimization.
• Monitors security technology trends and ensures the adaptability of techniques to various system architectures. Encourages sound technology choices are made and drive innovative technology architecture and solution design.
• Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues and solution development.
