Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will contribute to supporting BUCFO team in applying forecasting models, advanced tools or techniques (such as Python, and R and financial industry knowledge to business or financial data, including model results. Your responsibilities will include understanding existing processes to provide continuous build-up of BUCFO AWS cloud infrastructure, maintaining and upgrading this infrastructure when necessary, incorporating changes to data structures, and creating a cloud best practices knowledge base for BUCFO analysts. Your efforts will enable the team to analyze or report on business performance, solve business questions, or inform business decisions. Work may include developing models or prototypes to achieve these goals.

The Sr Finance Cloud Engineer  role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on processing or analyzing large amounts of data efficiently using advanced financial engineering tools and techniques. Determine customer's intended uses for a financial analysis or model.
  • Conduct financial analysis or forecasting, which may include scenario or sensitivity analysis, stress testing, or attribution analysis.
  • Execute models and/or interpret model results. Translate the results from the analysis or models for the customer into understandable conclusions
  • Automate and improve legacy processes
  • Assist with cloud migration of BUCFO processes from on onsite to cloud using AWS infrastructure
  • As part of cloud migration, perform data and systems analysis, validation, and regression testing
  • Convert onsite code to more modern framework to achieve scalability and better performance
  • Gather technical and data requirements of existing processes to assist with developing cloud infrastructure
  • Maintain and update inventory of all the BUCFO processes including financial analysis, forecasting and modeling to continue provide tools and platforms that best satisfy BUCFO team's needs
  • Determine customer's data usages; Collaborate on processing/analyzing large amounts of data using advanced financial engineering tools and techniques; working with databases such as Redshift and ORACLE
  • Ensure compliance with security mandates cascading down from Fannie Mae
  • Develop best practices; Create job aids
  • Host walkthroughs and training sessions for team members on new platforms and technologies; Onboard team members to the team's platforms

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Experience migrating projects from running onsite to run within AWS
  • Experience evaluating business processes, conducting impact assessments, identifying control gaps and remediating risk
  • Experience defining and managing changes to financial models and analytical processes
  • Experience with querying various data systems including Oracle and RedShift Databases
  • Experience with implementing queries in python, SQL and SAS
  • Experience using DBeaver or Tableau to test data connections and data structures
  • Experience in using JupyterLab on SageMaker or Domino to perform data querying and analysis
  • Adept at managing project plans and resources to ensure successful project completion
  • Basic understanding of mortgage finance


Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Limited experience with building process workflows/pipelines (ex. building and implementing CI/CD pipeline)
  • Experience using Java
  • Experience with simultaneously working on multiple projects
  • Basic experience in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure


Skills

  • Skilled in cloud technologies and cloud computing
  • Ability to frame processes as systems and wholistically analyze inputs, outputs, and process flow/orchestration
  • Collaborating with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal
  • The group of skills related to Risk Assessment and Management including evaluating and designing
