Application Support Engineer, Salesforce

Working in Application Support means you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. As an Application Support professional, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions  across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business  objectives.  You'll be part of a team specifically built to meet and exceed our evolving technology needs, as well as our technology controls agenda. 

Job Responsibilities    

• Monitor day to day issues including daily health checks of applications and processes, working closely with end users, development staff and Infrastructure teams, to prioritize and resolve and/or mitigate issues.
• Monitor production activities/processes to ensure timely and effective reporting, tracking, follow-up and communication of problems to internal and external clients, technical resources, and executives.
• Implement continuous process improvement, including but not limited to policy, procedures, and production monitoring.
• Help in identifying, coordinating, and implementing initiatives/projects and activities that create efficiencies and optimize technical processing.
• Participate in release cycles including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and QA Testing
• Carefully evaluate alternative risks and solutions before taking action to provide timely resolution.
• Demonstrate creativity, innovation and high performance.
• Understanding of risk controls and compliance to departmental and company-wide standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
• Takes Ownership and is solutions oriented.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills   

• Formal training or certification in software engineering/application support concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Hands-on professional experience working as a Salesforce Administrator / Developer
• Ability to break down issues and work independently
• Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages, plus an interest in learning other coding languages and skills as needed
• Experience with SQL
• Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goal

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Knowledge of ITIL processes and concepts
• Experience working with Salesforce technologies such as Apex, Lightning web components
• Experience working with SoQL
