<h3>Job Description</h3><p><strong>About the job :</strong></p><p>West Europe Marketing Science team is a specialist business unit providing consulting and advanced statistics across the NIQ SA&I portfolio. We act as consultants for statistical/ technical advice, input into client proposals, as well as support to research teams in the design & execution of all client projects.</p><p>The team, spread across Europe, share the same vision to learn, develop and share the latest cutting-edge methods.</p><p>Working with colleagues across country borders we promise a rewarding career progression: developing, customizing, and applying leading edge techniques across international markets, covering the full range of research applications across a wide range of industry sectors.</p><p>Reporting to the head of Brand & Media Marketing Science team, your strong background in statistics and/ or data science enables you to run complex analytic projects. You will make useful contributions to discussions with clients and researchers and will recommend appropriate methodologies to design analytic/ research programs which address the client’s marketing/business problems. Good communication skills are important as you will present analysis to researchers/clients on a regular basis. </p><p>We are looking for someone with experience with applying a diverse range of advanced analytics to survey research and other data sources, with excellent knowledge of Regression (Logistic, Linear, Non-linear), Factor analysis, Mapping… Knowledge of other areas such as Bayesian Networks, econometric modelling, segmentation, data integration, marketing mix modelling.</p><p>We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, pro-active, creative, and eager to learn.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities :</strong></p><ul><li>Deliver analytics projects to a high quality that meet internal stakeholders’ and clients’ requirements</li><li>Maintain good working knowledge of statistical analysis techniques, both current and emerging.</li><li>Effectively manage own workload & be responsible for managing projects.</li><li>Maintain a broad and deep understanding of quantitative research techniques, to be able to mention appropriate solutions to client problems in a convincing way.</li><li>Develop an understanding of the possibilities and limitations of techniques and software packages.</li><li>Promote new techniques and approaches as well as continuously review external developments</li><li>Ensure high quality of all finished documents</li><li>Represent GfK’s Marketing Science expertise at internal and external conferences and workshops</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>Experience & Qualifications : </strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor or master’s degree in a field that emphasizes the learning of modelling, statistical or mathematical skills (PhD is a plus)</li><li>5+ years of work experience in a market research agency</li><li>Expert modelling skills and statistics knowledge (essential)</li><li>Expert statistical skills and knowledge of econometric techniques in:<ul><li>survey/polling statistics (sampling, non-response adjustments, Bayesian statistics), and</li><li>econometric modelling (program evaluation, forecasting, economic theory, panel data), and/or</li><li>observational causal inference (potential outcomes, structural equation models, instrumental variables).</li></ul></li><li>Experience in and strong interest in the following fields: pricing research, brand management, digital behavioral analysis, segmentation, media effectiveness, etc</li><li>Expert knowledge of analytics programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and the respective tool ecosystem (e.g., R-Studio Server, Spyder, Jupyter, POSIT Workbench)</li><li>Solid experience visualizing and communicating results of data analyses with the ability to think beyond the numbers while addressing real-world business problems</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable :</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in open data sourcing (Google Trends, Social Mentions, etc.)</li><li>Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git)</li><li>Basic knowledge of Data Science such as Big Data Analytics (Machine Learning, Hadoop, Map Reduce, Hive, Spark, etc.)</li><li>Basic knowledge of cloud computing environments and tooling (AWS, Azure)</li><li>Basic SQL skills with regards to working with relational databases</li><li>Basic knowledge of programming in VBA</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Soft Skills :</strong></p><ul><li>Mathematical thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Proven client-facing skills: translate and clearly communicate sophisticated analytical information to non-expert stakeholders and clients, able to deliver analytic insights in an impactful and meaningful way.
