Job Description

Performs server administrator responsibilities including architecture, engineering, implementations, configuration, and administration of hardware and software in CoBank's IBMI infrastructure. Provides 24x7 support for the diagnosis and resolution of problems. Develops and maintains documentation and processes/procedures for operating the environment. Mentors other administrators and may lead other staff on major projects.

Essential Functions

  • Performs system administration functions in the IBMI environment including building new systems and operating existing systems. Administers, troubleshoots, resolves problems, monitors, and conducts performance management and reporting. Responsibilities include but not limited to AS400, hardware, patch management, capacity management, backups, upgrades, and ongoing system monitoring.
  • Assists in establishing operating methodologies and after hours support procedures in order to support a consistent and predictable operating environment. Documents operating environment according to CoBank policies. Complies with all procedure and documentation requirements.
  • Works extensively with third party vendors in the delivery of ongoing services or major projects.
  • Prepares responses to internal and external audits and/or makes authorized changes to systems as a result of audit findings.
  • Design and support the implementation and testing of Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity initiatives as required.
  • Provides 24x7 on-call support and availability.
  • Works within the established and documented process for change management to build test and implement approved changes.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Bachelor's degree may be substituted with four years of related experience (four years is in addition to what is minimally required for the role), or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Work Experience

  • 6 years as an IBMI administrator implementing, configuring, administering, monitoring, and supporting these systems, preferably in banking or financial services industry. required
  • Prior Experience with formal IT operating methodologies such as ITIL. required
  • Prior Experience demonstrating expert-level proficiency with OS/400 and associated hardware. required

Physical Exertion Details

The typical base pay range for this role is between $108,400 - $146,312. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
