Overview

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensures the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and construction 

  • Supervises the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents, contract drawings, specifications or contract changes 
  • Reviews and reports on contract estimates prepared by private consultants and recommends if estimate is appropriate for implementation 

  • Participates in cost negotiations 

  • Plans, assigns, and reviews the cost estimating work 

  • Performs related tasks 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Services or a related field 

  • 3 years full time, technical experience in estimating areas of architecture, electrical, mechanical or plumbing 

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs  

  • Ability to obtain and scope trade contractor budget proposals  

  • Understanding of Contract Document and Specifications  

  • Strong written and verbal skills  

  • Ability to work in a team-based environment  

 

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For New York, New York this ranges from $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
