About the role

Description

CME is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Director of Classroom and Family Services to oversee our ECEAP classroom and family services throughout our service area.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Mission: Understand and promote CME’s mission and strategic plan. Stay curious and positive, and adapt as priorities change.
  • Program Management: Plan, organize, and supervise the daily operations of ECEAP classrooms and Family Services.
  • Supervision: Guide and support the ECEAP Site Manager and Family Services Manager. Develop and implement professional development plans, provide feedback, and motivate the team.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth program operations by planning, prioritizing, and delegating tasks. Train and mentor managers to perform effectively.
  • Reporting: Report to the Director of Classroom and Family Services. Communicate openly, practice "managing up," and support integrated model and expansion opportunities.
  • Community Relations: Represent CME positively in community relationships and partnerships. Act as a spokesperson for early learning initiatives.
  • Compliance and Monitoring: Develop plans to meet compliance requirements, monitor progress, and ensure timely reporting and data analysis.
  • Leadership: Lead program managers in planning, budgeting, and achieving goals. Support the Director in sustaining a comprehensive Classroom and Family Services Department.
  • Flexibility: Be open to different assignments and adaptable to changing environments. Be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Expectations:

  • Understand and support CME’s mission and vision.
  • Develop and implement efficient plans for program operations.
  • Ensure team members achieve success and provide necessary training and mentorship.
  • Maintain positive community relationships and represent CME in local, regional, and state meetings.
  • Think strategically and collaboratively with CME departments and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with program guidelines and quality standards.

Requirements

Education/Experience: M.A. or M.Ed. Degree in Education, Business, or Organizational Development with an early learning emphasis preferred, B.A. in Early Childhood/Early learning field, with 5 years experience at a leadership level. Demonstrates capacity for managing details and strategies and at least 3-5 years of supervisory experience. Experience and knowledge of the role of Child Care Aware of Washington.


Certificates and Licenses: Current valid driver’s license and automobile insurance are required. Ability to pass Washington State and Federal background checks and obtain level 5 security clearance.
