Currently, we are seeking a motivated, career and team-oriented Functional Designer (CoreHR and Application Security) in support of The Department of Defense (DoD). This position will be remote.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document business requirements for CoreHR functions, such as employee management, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Implement Workday Core HR structures such as Jobs, Departments, Grades etc, along with Employee structures such as Assignments to enable HR transactions such as promotions, transfers and Terminations
- Analyze current systems and processes to recommend improvements and ensure alignment with DoD HR policies and procedures.
- Lead the design and configuration of CoreHR modules within the HCM platform to meet the specific needs of the DoD.
- Ensure the design integrates effectively with other modules and systems, adhering to best practices and DoD standards.
- Oversee the customization of the HCM platform to address unique HR needs of DoD.
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems and third-party applications.
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure the CoreHR module functions as intended.
- Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and address any issues or feedback from users to refine the system.
- Provide training and support to HR personnel and end-users on the new CoreHR functionalities.
- Develop documentation and user manuals to facilitate smooth adoption of the new system.
- Define and document security requirements specific to the HCM platform, ensuring compliance with DoD security policies and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats and mitigate risks.
- Design and implement access control measures to protect sensitive HR data.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and authentication processes to ensure secure access to the HCM platform.
- Oversee the implementation of data protection mechanisms, including encryption, to safeguard confidential HR information.
- Ensure that data handling practices comply with relevant privacy laws and DoD guidelines.
- Develop and implement procedures for responding to security incidents or breaches related to the HCM platform.
- Coordinate with security teams to investigate and resolve security issues promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare reports on security status, incidents, and compliance for review by DoD leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science information systems or related technical degree plus and/or 5 years of comparable work experience
- Experience in implementing Workday Core HR and Security Modules
- Understanding of latest development and data management techniques.
- Proficient in Workday with active Workday certification
- Familiarity with Core HR functionalities and configurations within major HCM platforms
