1230 - 3D Modeler (Jr to Sr)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The ideal candidate will serve as a 3D modeler responsible for creating 3D models and animations to be incorporated into simulation environments.

Essential Functions

• Modeling and texturing models for a real-time data-driven 3D simulation environment. 
• Generate accurate 3D models from scratch or modify/optimize existing models. 
• Create and map photorealistic textures on to 3D models setup for real-time.
• Edit and manipulate geospatial images such as satellite imagery.

Desired Skills and Requirements 

• Experience with 3D Modeling Software: Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Presagis Creator, or equivalent 
• Experience with 2D Graphics Software:  Photoshop (Preferred), Illustrator  
• Portfolio demonstrating experience or personal projects if recent work is considered classified. 
• Art test demonstrating skill proficiency may be required.

       Is a plus, but not required:

• Experience with real-time low poly modeling
• Experience with EP2-DBGS
• Knowledge of rigging, lighting and animating
• Knowledge of graphics for multimedia products and web-based applications
• Knowledge of GIS software

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but could occasionally direct or provide guidance to some employees on the project.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. 

Travel

Travel is not required for this position. This can be subject to change with notice to the employee.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer animation or other relevant degree.

Zero experience to senior level as a 3D modeler. All levels needed.

Preferred Education and Experience

Master’s degree in computer science, computer animation or other relevant degree.

Modeling and Simulation experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Work Authorization/Security Clearance.
