About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and drive the vision for our ShipStation API product line. In this high-impact individual contributor role, you’ll lead strategic initiatives such as API Shipping Analytics and Strategic Integrations, with a strong focus on developer experience and platform scalability.

This position is hybrid (3 days per week in office) and is located in Austin, Texas.

Travel Requirements: Up to 10% travel required.

About the team

The ShipStation API team is focused on building powerful, flexible APIs that enable businesses to integrate shipping seamlessly into their workflows. We support everything from SMBs building in-house tools to large platforms and 3PLs with complex fulfillment needs. We’re a cross-functional team that partners closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to drive product outcomes and developer success.

What will you be doing?

• Take end-to-end ownership of the ShipStation API product line, including roadmap, prioritization, and execution
• Drive high-impact projects like API Shipping Analytics and Strategic Integrations that power connections with key partners and platforms
• Collaborate across engineering, design, customer success, and commercial teams to align on API-first strategy and user experience 
• Partner with VP of Product to evolve our API portfolio and expand it's impact across the ecosystem
• Represent the product in internal and external forums, including executive updates, partner discussions, and customer conversations
• Apply structured product practices to ensure consistent delivery, measurement, and improvement

What are we looking for?

• 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment or similar 
• Solid grasp of APIs, developer tools, or platform products
• Demonstrated success leading complex initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience owning a product roadmap and driving outcomes across related  domains or services
• Clear and compelling communicator who brings alignment and energy to the teams they work with 
• Deep empathy for both technical and non-technical users of APIs

What will make you stand out?

• Prior experience as a developer or deep familiarity with developer workflows
• Experience scaling an API platform or managing external developer ecosystems
• Ability to align API roadmap to business objectives like monetization, retention, or platform extensibility
• Track record of building products that improve observability, analytics, or developer experience
• Experience leading distributed teams across time zones

The Tech

While you won’t need to write production code, you should be comfortable with API structures, reading documentation, and partnering closely with engineers on technical topics. Our tech stack includes REST APIs and internal tools to manage API lifecycle and usage. Proficiency in SQL and Business Intelligence tools like Looker.
